Onstead Institute, Amon Carter Museum Fellowship
Sahar Alsana
Sahar Alsana is an emerging art educator with a rich background in teaching and art
museum education. Holding a bachelor’s degree in art education from the University
of Hail, Saudi Arabia, Alsana is currently pursuing an M.A. in Art Education at the
University of North Texas. Her academic journey is complemented by professional stints
as an art teacher in Hail, where she developed curricula and educational materials
aimed at fostering creative expression among elementary students. Sahar is also enhancing
her expertise through Graduate Academic Certificates in Art Museum Education, anticipating
the completion of her second certificate by December 2023. Fluent in English and Arabic,
she brings a diverse cultural perspective and a commitment to promoting art education.
Bailey Bark
Bailey Bark is a graduate student at the University of North Texas, pursuing an M.A.
in Art History and a certificate in Art Museum Education. She holds a bachelor’s degree
in Interdisciplinary Art and Design Studies with a concentration in Design Management
and two minors in Management and Art History from the University of North Texas. She
is honored to have been selected for the Onstead Institute and the Amon Carter Museum
of American Art Fellowship for the Fall of 2024 and Spring of 2025.
Bark was also selected as a fellow for the Latino Art, Museums, and Preservation Fellowship,
LAMP, through the University of North Texas’ Institute of Museum and Library Services
and partnering Mexican American Civil Rights Institute, MACRI, in San Antonio, Texas,
for the Summer of 2024.
Bailey is intrigued by holistic display practices in museums, and her research focuses
on religious displays of interior spaces, specifically the Tiffany Chapel. She is
interested in examining how museums educate their audiences through various display
methods and educational programs. Bark is excited to work at the Amon Carter Museum
of American Art in Fort Worth, Texas.
Onstead Institute, Kinfolk House Fellowship in Community Art Education
Caitlin Jones
Caitlin Jones is a graduate student pursuing a certification in Art Museum Education.
She holds a B.A. in Art History from the University of Texas at Austin. Caitlin has
previously interned at Landmarks and the Texas Military Forces Museum in Austin. She
also has worked as an educator at the Blanton Museum of Art, TexARTS, Leander ISD,
and Denton ISD.
Having a background in theatre and experience in theatre education during her undergraduate
years, Caitlin is dedicated to exploring how movement can enhance the understanding
of artwork. She is also deeply committed to community-building initiatives and brings
a flexible approach to her role as an educator, extending her work beyond the traditional
boundaries of museum education.
Onstead Institute, CVAD Texas Fashion Collection Fellowship in Collections Research
Isabel Saldivar
Isabel Saldivar is working toward an M.A. in Art History with a Certification in Art
Museum Education. She received her B.A. in art history with a minor in anthropology
from the University of North Texas. She has previously interned at the Texas Fashion
Collection and worked as a fellow with the Mexican American Civil Rights Institute
in San Antonio. In 2023, along with the University of Michigan’s Kelsey Museum of
Archeology, Saldivar was a part of the excavation of the ancient city of Gabii, east
of Rome, Italy. Her graduate research focuses on dress, ideas of beauty, and the agency
of women in ancient Italy. Saldivar is interested in the social and artistic value
visualized in dress and evident in past beauty practices.
Jessica Worthey
Jessica Worthey is a graduate student pursuing an M.A. in Art History with a Graduate
Academic Certification in Art Museum Education. Her research interests center around
the transformation of deceased persons into art objects and Catholic reliquaries of
medieval Europe, though she aspires to pursue further education in the preservation
and conservation of art objects.
She previously graduated from the University of North Texas with a B.A. in Art History
with a minor in German Language (2021), and from Tarrant County College’s Cornerstone
Honors Program with an A.A. (2019). She is not only an art historian, but also a fine
artist who specializes in oil and acrylic portraiture. When she isn’t researching
or creating, you can find her listening to true crime podcasts.

Susan Stringfellow
Susan Stringfellow graduated from the University of North Texas with a B.A. in Art
History and a minor in French in 2022. Currently, she is pursuing an M.A. in Art History
along with a Graduate Certificate in Art Museum Education. Her research focuses on
contextualizing memorialization practices in Ancient Rome, using widely familiar modern
cultural references. She is passionate about fostering connections between people
through art and creating learning environments where individuals feel confident that
their thoughts and opinions are valued. She is excited to further develop her skills
as an art educator at the Sid Richardson Museum.
Onstead Institute, Meadows Museum Fellowship
Raegan Smythe
Raegan Smythe earned her B.F.A. in visual art studies from the University of Texas
at Austin, with a minor in art history. She is now pursuing an M.A. in Art Education
with a certificate in Museum Education from the University of North Texas. Smythe
currently works as a graduate assistant at the Onstead Institute and also performs
as a drummer and vocalist in a local Denton band. Her experience in creating and leading
workshops at the Onstead Institute, combined with her background as a preschool teacher,
informs her approach as she works toward a career in museum education and programming.
