Keller ISD Metals Casting Workshop

May 11, 2017

In the Metals Casting workshop, Keller ISD teachers used tools to carve into cuttlefish bones. Teachers from Keller ISD were assisted in pouring molten bronze into the resulting mold, producing small objects that picked up the natural texture of the bone. Participants finished their pieces by sanding and applying patina. The workshop, led by metalsmiths Sarah Loch-Test and Keela Dooley of UNT, gave the teachers a day outside of their classroom to be creative and an opportunity to learn new skills.
