The Creative Teacher vs. Teaching Creatively workshop was led by Lucy Bartholomee, a recent UNT Art Education doctoral graduate. TheExploring Line workshop was led by UNT’s Senior Lecturer and Drawing I Lead Faculty Rachel Black. Through gesture, contour line, and organizational line drawing in graphite, ink, and charcoal, Black asked educators to explore markmaking as a means to hone hand-eye coordination, while also considering how we observe and perceive the world around us.

The Artful Thinking workshop was led by UNT Art Education graduate student Shoshana McIntosh. Using interactive “thinking routines” McIntosh introduced educators to the Artful Thinking methodology developed by Harvard School of Education’s Project Zero which promotes close observation and higher order thinking through engagements with the visual arts.
